Nordens Søpark

At one of the last building plots in Trekroner, Lysalleen, we are working on a structure for an urban space which invites to activity and community gatherings. The new buildings will be located in the landscape like a fan, giving rise to an abundance of green spaces and pleasant, community courtyard areas between the homes. The fan structure gains a third dimension as the ground drops into the nearby lake, in unison with the way the buildings vary in height. This creates a wealth of experience in spatial impressions along with the view over Trekroner Sø. The three northern lines of buildings will each have a rooftop terrace accessible to all residents. Here they can establish greenhouses, nursery beds, and outdoor gathering areas with lounge furniture.
Three different types of brick were selected in warm, light shades of grey. These shades function to show the vertical limitations of the apartments and create varying façade lines in the length of the residential blocks. The different colors of brick also serve to break the monotony so the buildings appear as a line of residential homes but remain connected as a whole. In selected spots, the facades are dressed in wooden material or dark steel plating. The wood provides for a softer and more organic touch in reference to other buildings in the area with sections in wood.

The residential blocks thus gain a façade expression where the individual apartments are reflected in the façade via vertical divisions and where the human scale is visible in the windows and bay windows which stretch as tall as the building’s stories. Focus is on the feeling of intimacy and safety in the open facades, and all apartments are equipped with private balconies or terraces on the ground floor. The apartments are shaped with great inherent flexibility, making it possible to move walls and design your own home to fit individual needs.
As a spatial element in the apartments, bay windows will be installed in glass and steel plating in complimentary colors. Along with the difference in brick, the bay windows add variety to the east-facing facades, while at the same time providing an extra niche to the bedrooms where residents can rest and enjoy the view. The glass of the gables contributes to an open expression towards the surroundings and creates a large visual connection to Lysalleen, Trekroner Sø and the surrounding homes.
