The residential development is organised as an open, fragmented block, where smaller wings create varied urban spaces in a human scale with good lighting conditions in the daytime.
The planting is based on the local green oases in Ishøj Municipality – especially Ishøj Strand and Ishøj Lake, both of which are less than two kilometres from the project area. By mirroring their habitat types, a clear connection to the surrounding landscape is created, while new habitats are established for the species that are already present in the local area.
In general, the planting concept consists of a continuous area of meadow grass. Along the edge of the area, edge vegetation in the form of bushes and trees will be present, which will contribute to creating boundaries and variation. A lawn is situated in the centre of the area, which is surrounded by small hills. These create shelter, spatiality and smaller zones inviting users to play, stay and be together. The central part of the area is planted with native species of shrubs and trees, supporting the biodiversity and the character of the place.

Each home will be arranged to have more of a private terrace towards the edge zone and more of an open terrace towards the centre of the area. Here, the mixture of meadow grass acts as a natural extension of the terraces, while plantings of shrubs and trees create green pockets and a discreet shielding between the private and common areas.
Ornamental beds, with perennials and bulbous plants, have been established around the community house, which create an inviting atmosphere and invite for stay.
