SOPU nominated for the WAN Education Award 2017

One of Danielsen Architecture’s most prestigious projects from 2016, SOPU Campus in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro neighborhood, has bee nominated for the WAN Education Award 2017.

SOPU was constructed in the New Nordic style focusing on functionalism and the area’s industrial heritage. The educational institution for health care services and pedagogy opened its doors to 1,400 students in February 2016, and has since become one of the most attractive study environments in Copenhagen. For some time, Vesterbro has been undergoing a major transition from a socially burdened and industrial area to its status as a cultural hub in Copenhagen. The institution on Skelbælgade contributes architecturally, functionally, and socially to the urban environment and to the future vibrancies of Copenhagen.
