Klædebo: Assisted Living Home

The landscape around the assisted living home by Klædebo is connected to the building, which is centrally located on the plot. The building’s “H” shape creates an arrival area to the north in a natural extension of the green parking lot and a recreational garden to the south.

The green open spaces are mainly oriented towards the south and west to optimize the solar exposure of the recreational areas. The planting is laid out as a lush green belt of trees and shrubs.

Rainwater from roof surfaces and surface water is directed via open and piped gutters to the central rainwater basin located in the garden to the east.

From the house’s communal room on the ground floor, there is a view of the garden, where a number of shared activities are planned, such as raised gardening beds, fruit and berry gardens, an ornamental/sensory garden and a dementia-friendly footpath. Areas are laid out for exercise equipment and drying areas. The outdoor areas are supplemented with shared terraces and a roof garden to create shared outdoor spaces on several levels and with different levels of privacy.
